This policy explains the cookies and similar storage used on www.feedmanager.org (this website) and in
FeedManager itself (panel.feedmanager.org). It belongs with our Privacy Policy, which
explains everything else we do with personal data.
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. "Local storage" works the same way, except that the data stays in your browser and is never sent with a request. We use both sparingly, and we do not use advertising cookies anywhere.
1. On this website
Strictly necessary
These are needed for the site to be delivered safely. They cannot be switched off.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
__cf_bm |
Cloudflare | Tells human visitors from bots so the site stays available | 30 minutes |
cf_clearance |
Cloudflare | Remembers that a security check was passed | Up to 1 year |
Preferences (local storage, not cookies)
| Name | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
fm_theme |
The light or dark theme you picked | Until you clear it |
fm_consent |
Your answer to the analytics question below, so we stop asking | 12 months |
These never leave your browser.
Analytics — only with your consent
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages help people and which do not. It is switched on only if you choose Accept in the banner, and you can change your mind at any time through Cookie settings in the footer.
| Name | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
_ga |
Tells returning visits apart, without identifying you by name | 2 years |
_ga_G-7GT7J4FJWF |
Keeps the state of the current visit for the same property | 2 years |
Before you answer, and if you reject: Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode called Consent Mode. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser; it sends Google an event for the page view that includes your IP address, the address of the page and general details about your browser, which Google uses to estimate visitor numbers. Nothing in that mode can recognise you on your next visit. If you would rather send nothing at all, use your browser's tracking protection, an ad blocker, or Google's opt-out add-on.
Google Ireland Limited acts as our processor for this data, with onward transfer to Google LLC in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses in Google's terms. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. We do not use Google Signals, advertising features or remarketing.
2. In FeedManager (the panel)
The application uses only what it needs to work, with no analytics or advertising cookies:
| Name | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
fm_session |
Keeps you signed in | Until you sign out, or the session expires |
fm_theme, fm_nav, fm_lang |
Your theme, sidebar and language choices | Until you clear them |
| Cloudflare cookies | Security, as above | As above |
| Turnstile cookies | Only where a CAPTCHA is shown | Short-lived |
Because these are strictly necessary or your own preferences, they do not need consent.
3. Changing your choice
- Cookie settings in the footer of this website reopens the banner and shows what you chose.
- Rejecting after accepting deletes the Google Analytics cookies this site set.
- Every browser can block or delete cookies for a site; the panel needs its session cookie to sign you in.
4. Changes to this policy
If we add or remove anything that needs consent, we publish a new version here and ask again. The version and date are shown at the top of this page.
